About the role

This role is a Design Engineer who will report to the VP of Engineering and will work on our frontend stack contributing to our design system (storybook.whop.com) as well as building key features across the platform.

What does the role look like?

The frontend team boasts perhaps the most energetic and fun engineering roles at Whop. As a Design Engineer on the frontend team, you will have significant responsibility over building the funnest and most interactive parts of our web apps. You will work directly with our design, product, and growth teams to deeply understand what is being built from the beginning of the design phase. You are expected to be highly opinionated and passionate about all aspects of user experience and product. At the same time, you can actually bring highly complex products to life – through code.

As a Design Engineer, you must be able to own a large area of our product and keep relevant stakeholders informed through frequent updates and check-ins. You should be capable of owning an 8 week roadmap for your domain, preparing tickets for sprints, reporting KPIs during bi-weekly meetings, and interviewing candidates as we scale the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Expert with CSS
• Expert with React
• Advanced with TypeScript
• Experience with building and maintaining polished and accessible Design Systems and reusable components
• Experience with Next.js

Nice to haves

• Experience with Figma
• Eye for and experience creating great designs
• Experience with CSS/JS Animations and Canvas
• Experience working on high quality consumer products
