Warby Parker is looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to assist the Accounting team in overseeing full cycle revenue management, owning close tasks, supporting financial audits, and more. In this role, you’ll also help achieve the department’s goals by supporting our month-end close and improving the efficiency of our processes. Our ideal candidate is a hands-on, disciplined, and detail-oriented self-starter with an eye for process improvement and a knack for working independently in a high-volume environment. Sound like you? Keep reading!

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the month-end close and reporting process for revenue, accounts receivable, returns reserve, and deferred revenue to ensure an accurate and timely monthly close and maintain compliance with the company’s revenue recognition policies under ASC 606
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the revenue accounting function, with a focus on process improvements, automation, and analysis of the business results to support the company’s scale and growth
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering and Technology teams on reporting enhancement and initiatives related to the order-to-cash process
  • Work closely with FP&A to enhance visibility regarding revenue recognition and areas that may impact forecast accuracy
  • Develop scalable, standardized, month-end close and financial reporting procedures, and help drive the reduction of the close timeline by assessing and streamlining close-related activities
  • Partner with the Technical Accounting department to ensure accounting policies and procedures are documented and in compliance with ASC 606
  • Own finance and accounting requirements in order to support revenue to cash operations

Who you are:

  • Backed by at least 3 years of general accounting experience within consumer products, retail, auditing, or another related industry
  • The proud owner of a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or finance
  • A total Excel expert (keyboard shortcuts are your love language)
  • Eager to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently looking for new and innovative ways to work
  • Serious about your work (without taking yourself too seriously)
  • A highly collaborative and communicative team player, and a self-starter willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented (improving and documenting processes is your bread and butter)
  • A dexterous multitasker who can prioritize several projects without losing focus
  • Positive, kind, and excited by a challenge
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

Some benefits of working at Warby Parker for full-time employees:

About Us:

Warby Parker was founded with a mission: to inspire and impact the world with vision, purpose, and style.

We're constantly asking ourselves how we can do more and make a greater impact, and that starts by reimagining everything that a company and industry can be. We want to demonstrate that a business can scale while doing good in the world, without charging a premium for it. And we’ve learned that it takes creativity, empathy, and innovation to achieve that goal.

Since the day we launched in 2010, we’ve pioneered ideas, designed products, and developed technologies that help people see. We offer everything you need for happier eyes at a price that leaves you with money in your pocket, from designer-quality glasses and contacts to eye exams and vision tests, and you can meet us online, at our stores, or even in your home. Wherever and whenever you need it, we’re there to make exceptional vision care simple and accessible. (Delightful, too.)

Ultimately, we believe in vision for all, which is why for every pair of glasses or sunglasses we sell, a pair of glasses is distributed to someone in need through our Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program.
