Corporate Counsel
Vast is looking for a highly skilled Corporate Counsel to join our Legal Team. As a crucial member of the Legal Team in a rapidly growing company and expanding industry, you will handle a wide variety of legal matters from space station contracts, human spaceflight regulations, and cutting edge legal tech implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance on contracts, internal policies and procedures, and requirements under relevant statutory and regulatory authorities across a variety of subject areas
- Collaborate cross-functionally across the company (including with the engineering, manufacturing and supply chain, and sales teams) to achieve key business objectives and provide strategic, business-minded, and solutions-focused legal advice
- Work with a small, collaborative legal team to solve novel, complex and challenging issues company-wide in a rapidly growing environment
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience in a legal counsel role in-house or at a law firm
- Juris Doctor with admission to practice law in a state bar in good standing
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience building a highly efficient commercial function at a rapidly growing company
- Proven ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and schedules with ease and grace
- Ability to simplify complex legal concepts into straightforward and concise explanations
- Experience implementing efficient policies, processes and procedures
- Comfortable operating outside of areas of expertise and in uncharted legal territory
- Excellent communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with excellent time-management and prioritization skills
- Familiarity with the aerospace industry and its unique legal challenges
- Ability to identify and mitigate legal risks while enabling business objectives
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
