The Role
Jellysmack is seeking a highly motivated and organized producer to join our growing team in Los Angeles. You must have extensive experience producing for social video platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat with an emphasis on YouTube.
You will work on the ideation, creative development, production execution, acting as the Producer/Director on set, working closely with on-camera talent and contribute to the editorial overview by making data-informed decisions to produce overperforming videos that directly reach the unique audience of each social video platform. This role will work across existing originals as well as develop new series.
Creative and self-starter, this role is at the heart of all the challenges and opportunities implied by content development on social media. You will be required to balance between hands-on creative production keeping a clear focus on performance within digital video economics.
Partnering with the Director of Development & Content Strategy, and collaborating with the VP of Production and Performance Team in Paris, you will create the vision for the content that reflects a deep understanding of the type of programming that over performs with each unique platform.

What You Can Expect

  • You will lead the creative production process for the shows, from pitch, to concept development, through production, with teams of experts in each vertical.
  • You will collaborate with other departments to ensure that creative workflow aligns with Jellysmack Originals’ production capabilities to deliver performance driven shows at scale.
  • Must showcase your creative development and story structure with proven experience of providing script coverage and notes through the entire production cycle, with an emphasis in post production and editorial.
  • You will review performance metrics to optimize content performance and make data-informed decisions for the creative execution
  • Proficiency in understanding the correlation between video performance and its direct impact on revenue generation.
  • Prioritize internal communications and disseminate information regarding creative, deadlines and status updates; update internal trackers and project management documents as needed (i.e. including but not limited to devising timelines for internal milestones, including scheduling of internal and external creative kickoff meetings to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and facilitates timely project execution)

  • You approach content creation through the combination of your analytical rigor and your creativity, which is nourished by exchanges with your peers and talent.
  • You have a deep roster of creative talent within the industry that you leverage to get shows done.

Skills and Qualifications

  • You have previous experience in creating content for successful Youtube channels.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of Facebook and Snapchat with knowledge of the talent, true crime, podcast, entertainment, sports and influencer landscape;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience producing digital video production
  • Experience in directing and working closely with on-camera talent both in person and remotely
  • Understanding of how video performance ties to delivering financial results that increase revenue
  • Comfortable taking creative direction and guidance, and implementing changes
  • Self-motivated, proficient multi-tasker, able to stay organized with multiple simultaneous projects
  • Enthusiastic team player able communicate succinctly, emanate calm and remain focused in a growing, changing environment
  • Overseeing multiple projects, adept at anticipating potential issues, identifying problems, recommending and implementing solutions
  • Stays current with social platform trends, communications and practices
  • Ability to attend meetings that can be as early as 7AM PT to accommodate international time zones
  • This role will be required to be in Los Angeles and work on set in Los Angeles as needed
  • Background in creative development and story structure with proven experience of providing coverage and notes through the production cycle, particularly in editorial/post production
