Are you ready to take charge of the critical role of leading the Accounting function at GRIN? We're looking for a Controller who can hit the ground running and bring a mix of public and private accounting experience to the table. As a leader of a key function, you'll be comfortable managing an accounting team and collaborating with business leaders across the company. You will report to the VP of Finance and with GRIN being a remote-first SaaS company, you'll have the chance to make a huge impact from wherever you are!
Responsibilities
Who You Are:

- You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with other departments and stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of accountants and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including corporate accounting, A/R, A/P, tax, treasury and procurement
- Ensure timely and accurate financial close and support FP&A to explain variances
- Be invested in the development of the team. Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure high levels of performance and engagement
- Oversee the billing and collections process to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collection of payment from customers
- Develop and maintain technical accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Manage and review outsourced tax compliance for direct and indirect taxes globally
- Manage compliance Creator payouts (1099-NEC/1099-K, withholding remittances, etc)
- Oversee financial audit and ensure timely completion of the audit
- Manage the procurement process to ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing practices
- Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers
- Respond to investor relations requests related to corporate debt and financial reporting
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve accounting processes and procedures
Requirements:
- 8+ years of accounting experience with 4+years managing teams; at least 4+ years audit/assurance experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field of study; CPA desired
- Experience with improving A/R collections and procurement processes
- Strong knowledge of SaaS metrics and experience in tech startups
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals
- Familiar with ASC 606 treatment for SaaS companies
- Experience with Netsuite ERP, Salesforce and billing systems
- Strong communication skills including presenting to executive leadership
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing demands
