Job Summary:

As a Product Designer at Emerge, you will drive the design vision and execution for our innovative products. This role involves creating intuitive and compelling user experiences, from concept to final implementation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our globally distributed applications are both visually stunning and user-friendly. Your expertise will help shape the future of our product offerings, enhancing usability and customer satisfaction.

Duties/Responsibilities:

User Experience (UX) Design:
• Conduct user research to understand customer needs, pain points, and behaviors
• Develop user personas, user journeys, and wireframes to guide the design process
• Create prototypes, conduct usability testing to gather feedback, and iterate on designs
• Ensure that all designs are user-centered and aligned with business objectives
User Interface (UI) Design:
• Design visually appealing and cohesive interfaces for web and mobile applications
• Develop and maintain design systems, including style guides, component libraries, and design patterns
• Collaborate with developers to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and efficiently
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables
• Present and communicate design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, incorporating feedback as needed
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive design culture within the team
Problem Solving and Innovation:
• Identify design problems and propose innovative solutions to enhance the user experience
• Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints in the design process
• Explore new design methodologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and practices

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI design work
• Proficiency in Figma
• Strong understanding of design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, and accessibility
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with user research and usability testing methodologies
• Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
