About Sayge:

Sayge is an NYC-based HR Technology startup that’s making an exec-level benefit – coaching – available to everyone. We work with companies to help them attract, develop and retain more of the best employees by democratizing access to the best 1:1 professional development coaching.

Founded in 2017, Sayge has already worked with thousands of employees at dozens of companies, and has had a huge impact on people’s lives. Indeed, 93% of employees say that they're better able to tackle their professional goals after just three months of working with a Sayge coach.

Our vision is that Sayge will soon be the first place people go to for guidance and support in their working lives. After recently being acquired by Bennie, a leading employee benefits platform, we’re now looking to expand our offering with employee training programs.

Role & Opportunity

Sayge is looking for an experienced Training Director to help lead our growing learning and development offering.

The training portion of our comprehensive L&D offering is designed to complement our coaching platform. Our training should be innovative and modern, and the ideal candidate will work directly with our Co-Founder, President and Chief Coaching Officer to: set the long term strategy for the employee training offering; design, build, and launch training programs; and ultimately grow our training offering into a significant part of our business.

To summarize – the successful candidate will be responsible for creating a new and integral part of the learning experience with Sayge to continue supporting thousands of people through their working life!

Our Training Director must be experienced in the most progressive learning modalities, having designed, built and overseen the launch and growth of employee training programs. Ideally this person is also an ICF-accredited coach. Key activities for this position include:

  • Build on the current training product vision and strategy, and develop a long-term roadmap for growing the training product line with defined business metrics and targets. (note this will include self-driven/e-learning programming and some live group sessions)
  • Collaborate and communicate with key partners on strategy, program status, roadmaps, and trade-offs including founders, product, marketing, sales and customer experience.
  • Prioritize features and capabilities while establishing a balance between the requirements of customers, coaches/training participants, coaches, internal stakeholders, and the technology team.
  • Partner with product and technology leaders to deploy a scalable solution, ensuring continuous focus on best-in-class training modalities.
  • Train and assess coaches to deliver training materials.
  • Drive improvement and growth by assessing programs, and continuously optimize and create new training programming based on customer needs.
  • Enable analytics-driven decision making to evolve products and usage; produce ROI analyses and optimization recommendations.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced learning and development leader who has held roles for at least 8+ years in Learning and Development, specifically delivering employee training programs.

  • A demonstrated ability to deploy a range of learning modalities that promote an inclusive learning environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our customers and coaches
  • Has worked with, can lead and direct an instructional designer on developing best-in-class, scientifically led training materials and programs
  • An understanding of professional development and executive 1:1 coaching (ideally a certified coach)
  • Can balance overseeing and implementing the design of the training programs while also understanding key business needs and metrics
  • Has been responsible for growing revenue
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities to concurrently manage numerous tasks, some with conflicting priorities, all while building rapport quickly
  • Knowledge of modern and progressive LMS or training platforms (Docebo specifically) and how to leverage technology in L&D training programs
  • Utilize high quality learning and development techniques to build relationships, drive results, and build the skills and mindsets of individuals to foster independence for lifelong success in their careers
  • The ability to create and design content and programming to support our training programs
  • Be comfortable working in a remote environment and have an entrepreneurial attitude and spirit of building something from the ground up

What else?

  • The opportunity to work closely with an experienced founding team under the umbrella of a high-growth startup
  • This is a fully remote position with the opportunity to meet in person when the opportunities arise
  • A competitive salary, equity, and benefits package
